Hydrate

The number one rule in any fitness routine, especially when it is hot outside, is to hydrate. When you stay hydrated you will have a kick-start to your summer slim down plan. Water helps to flush toxins from your body, as well as boost your metabolism and ensure that your body is ready for hard workouts that lie ahead. It is important to start your day with a glass of water before eating and especially before your first cup of coffee.

Cross-train

There is no doubt that the same old workout routines can quickly become boring, which is one of the leading factors to why people quit their workout regimens. However, if you implement cross-training you can enjoy interval workouts that are constantly changing and can provide the most bang for your buck.

Grill

Grilling food is a great way to cut calories and fat from your diet. Not to mention it tastes great! However, do not limit yourself to only grilled salmon or chicken. The fact is that you can grill fruit and veggies, which can provide a great source of protein. You can make colorful fruit kabobs with a smoky grill flavor, a great treat that is great for you!

Eat healthy and supplement your diet

It is important to eat a well-balanced diet. This includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and healthy fats. The right combination of these foods will help you get in shape and maintain your weight. If you find you are lacking in certain nutrients or vitamins consider adding supplements to your diet.

Go outside

You should try to work out outdoors at least once a week. This can include a long walk, run or a group boot camp. The earlier in the day you can participate in these, the better. When you shock your system with a new time for your workout or a change of scenery, you can keep your energy and motivation high.

Purchase the right gear
