Editor-in-Chief and CEO Mark Heckathorn is a journalist and movie buff. Before leading DC on Heels, he worked as a reporter and editor at several publications, including McGraw-Hill. He has a master’s degree in Interactive Journalism from American University, and has been working with social media for years. He has also designed webpages for D.C.-area non-profits.

A native New Yorker and a graduate of the University of Virginia and George Washington University School of Law, Hilary is the president of Jochmans Consulting, a boutique firm specializing in helping fashion industry clients navigate and interact with Congress and the Federal government. Before founding the company, she was the director of the New York State Governor’s office in Washington for both Andrew Cuomo and David Paterson, and the deputy director for Eliot Spitzer. In that capacity, she served as the Governor’s chief liaison with Congressional leadership, the New York Congressional delegation and federal agencies. Hilary also spent 11 years on Capitol Hill working in the U.S. Senate for Sen. Tom Carper (Del.) and in the House of Representatives for Rep. Gary Ackerman (N.Y), as well as on several campaigns.

She has more than 25 years experience working for Congress, the executive branch, local government and business. Her most recent work appeared in Education Daily and other LRP Publications products. Her earlier work appeared in The History Channel Magazine and The Hill. She has also done pro bono press and communications work for the United States World War One Centennial Commission and the World War I Memorial Foundation. She lives on Capitol Hill.
