Battling the ‘Relationship 15’ Together

Ever heard of the “relationship 15?” It is when you get comfortable in your relationship and stop feeling like you have to impress each other. This means you can eat what you want, when you want without judgement. And while this point of your relationship is a great point to reach, it does have its down side.

While your dates and time together will be much more enjoyable, if you have gained a little weight together it will probably end up bothering one of you. Not necessarily about the weight — because if you love one enough you will love each other inside and out– but you may start to worry about each your partner’s health and your own.

If you and your partner both want to slim down for health and/or vanity reasons, these are a few things to try together:

Meal prep

Everyone is doing it, so why not try it? Cooking with your partner is already a fun activity, so why not take it to the next level? Plan out your meals together and try to get creative. Sending each other new recipes while at work will keep you both entertained. And when it comes to cooking, it is like a causal date night of prepping. Plus, if you both eat healthy during the week, you will not feel guilty about treating each other out on your nights off.

Gym buddy

How many times have you promised yourself that you would go to the gym only to change your mind by the end of the day? Probably one too many. If you and your partner set goals together, it will be easier to hold each other accountable. The issue many face is that they don’t want to become “that” gym couple. The one that goes together, works out together and seems to be inseparable. But why hate this couple? They are helping each other out and motivating one another. If it bothers you so much, go together but do separate workouts. Don’t judge those who better themselves together. Instead, get on board and convince your partner to want to work out. Make it something fun you both want to do and not a drag.

Detox time

Sometimes you just need to flush all the bad toxins out. But let’s be honest, detoxing sucks, and it is not easy. You get hungry, sleepy and every other emotion. The end game is worth it, but the finish line always seems so far away. Doing it alone is hard, but if you have someone else joining you on this mission it can be more bearable. So get your partner on board and motivate one another. Stop each other from quitting and push each other to stick with you. You will struggle together, but once it is over your bodies will thank you.
