Say Goodbye to Puffy Eyes and Dark Circles

Living in a bustling metropolitan area can be stressful, and this stress can take a toll on your physical appearance. Between work, socializing, taking care of a family or whatever other obligations you may have, you may not be taking the best care of yourself. Lack of sleep and not drinking enough water are two of the main culprits of puffy, dark under eye circles.

However, puffy eyes can affect anyone for a variety of reasons. Aging, stress, dehydration or even genetics can cause swollen, discolored eyes. The skin around the eyes is thinner than anywhere else in the body, which is why these symptoms are especially noticeable.

If you deal with puffy, dark eyes on a regular basis, all hope is not lost. There are many remedies that help get rid of under-eye circles or help conceal them. You can start by getting more sleep and hydrating more often, but in the meantime, there are some temporary solutions.

Many skincare products are designed to reduce the look of dark circles and puffiness. CeraVe Eye Repair Cream contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid, which help repair and restore the skin around the eye. You can use the product under makeup or alone, and it can be used day and night. CeraVe products can be found in most drugstores and the under eye cream is a very reasonably priced option compared to similar products.

If you’re looking for something a little more luxurious feeling (but still very reasonably priced), try Clinique All About Eyes Rich Cream. This product is another great option for getting rid of under-eye bags and discoloration. The cream can be used morning and night around the eye area. It is moisturizing and contains botanical ingredients that depuff the under-eye area.

Another way to deal with under-eye circles is by concealing them during the day. Any regular concealer can work when applied in the under-eye area. However, there are concealers and color correctors that are made specifically to deal with puffy and dark eyes on a more temporary basis during the day. Bye-Bye Under Eye by It Cosmetics is a full coverage concealer that completely covers any dark pigmentation under the eye. It comes in four shades, so you can pick the one that best matches your skin tone. Most concealers do an okay job of covering up sallow, dark eyes,  but this one completely hides them! If you are going to use a concealer under your eyes, go for one designed to deal with this issue.

Rather than concealing with a shade that matches your skin tone, some products contain peach or orange pigment to counteract the blue-gray tones under the eye. Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a creamy, peach-colored concealer specially formulated to reduce the look of darkness around the eyes. Apply this product lightly underneath the eye and then follow with a skin-toned concealer.

With these products, you can say goodbye to puffy, tired eyes — and this is just a sample of the many products out there that are designed for this purpose. Start with these and look forward to smoother, brighter eyes, a more awake appearance and a boost of confidence along with it!
