Filling the Void and Other Places
Now that’s it’s October, we’ve officially entered dating purgatory. You may be thinking, what the hell is “dating purgatory?” It’s the time between cuffing season and break up season. At this point, some couples are still struggling to break up after the summer fling season, while others are desperately looking for their next interest in time for holidays. For those who find themselves caught in the middle, single and currently not looking for anything serious, welcome to dating purgatory.
When in this middle stage of the dating spectrum, you will find yourself at different stages through out your journey. No stage is better than another, but every single person out there can admit to being in one of the three stages throughout their adventures.
Slut phase
When you’re not single and not looking, life is actually great. You’re not stressed about getting into a relationship, and you are just trying to have fun. Just because you don’t want a boyfriend doesn’t mean you can’t mess around. You are hooking up with no strings attached and have no regrets. From dating to getting physical, life is a breeze and your stress level is at a minimum. Go on and slut on, who is to judge your happiness? You will settle down when you are ready.
Redo phase
After you’ve filled your sexual void, you start to fill elsewhere. Maybe it’s time for a new look. This can vary from a brand new wardrobe to a bold hairdo, or maybe you want to work on your body and get fitter than ever. You’re still you, just new and improved.
Me phase
Lastly, you experience a phase of focusing on yourself. You think about what you want out of life and what you need to do to accomplish your dreams and goals. When in a relationship or even when you’re too busy looking for someone, you tend to stop thinking about yourself and your personal desires. During dating purgatory, you get to focus on improving you for you. And the next person to sweep you off your feet is just lucky enough to bask in your presence.
Dating purgatory is a great place to be, but keep in mind you will eventually want something more serious. Until that happens, just have fun and be fearless. Do your hair drastically, rock that new outfit and kiss all the hotties you want. Once you are taken, you have to be a good girl, so this is your time to be bad. Don’t completely whore yourself out. Also focus on you and how to create the best version of yourself. Random hookups will come and go, but you will always be the main source of your own happiness. Everything and everyone else is just sprinkles on your already fabulous self.
