Singles Get Ready to Set Sail This Summer
Couples in relationships are excited for summer for countless reasons. For starters, there are so many more date night options. From tennis to hiking and water parks to outdoor movies, couples are ready to go out and enjoy each other’s company under the sun this summer. But what about singles out there? If there are no plans tying you down, summer means endless opportunities to shack up or settle down with a summer fling.
A summer fling has various meanings depending on who you ask. For some, it is throwing committment out the window and being free to date whoever you want all summer long. Maybe it is an old fling or multiple Bumble dates. Whatever it is, it has no label and you are loving it. On the other hand, some see a summer fling as a mission to set their eyes on one new lover and ride that wave all summer. This means emulating an actual couple, but everything is new, interesting and flat out fun. But in this mini relationship both parties know the fun stops post-Labor Day weekend when fall is back in session.
Some will extend the mini relationship and attempt to break into fall, but anyone knows a true summer fling is one that starts and ends within the season. It is short-lived, but cherished nonetheless.
So what are the top three ways to maximize exposure and increase your chances of finding your perfect summer fling?
1. Get out there!
Summers aren’t about staying in all week. Go out to day drink, restaurant week, hiking and more to increase your chances of finding a fling worth your time this season. Plus, if you find someone while doing something you already enjoy, you have something immediately in common and know you are in for a fun summer together while it lasts.
2. Have a open mind.
During the year, maybe you are super picky and stick to a certain type. Broaden your horizon and try something new for a change. Maybe it is someone who is your popular opposite with different tastes or someone with a man bun verus your usual clean cut man. Whatever it is, you won’t know until you try it, so why not go outside the box with your summer fling. Who knows, maybe Fabio will rock your world, and you will have a whole new appreciation for long-haired babes after all.
3. Test the waters.
You don’t need to pick your summer fling right away. Shop around and check out your options this summer. Once you have gotten a decent look at your choices, pick someone you think is worth your time and excites you. But let’s say you try it out and it is a fail, you can try again with someone else mid-summer. No one ever said you had to limit yourself to just one summer fling.
