Sticking by Your Sick Sweetie
When you are in love or married, you promise to stick with your partner through sickness and in health. But let’s face it — no one likes to hang around an icky, sick person and vice versa. I know when I am sick, I don’t like people around me in fear of getting them sick, and I don’t want them seeing me at my worst. But how do you get alone time when you live with your significant other? Is it possible for one of you to be sick and the other to avoid it?
The answer is don’t bother avoiding each other. It is inevitable that if one person in the relationship is sick, the other will soon follow. Just embrace it and make the most of this sticky situation. If you are both sick at the same time, you will hopefully both get better at the same time too.
So stock up on medicine for two, stay in for the weekend and try to do the following to make your sick weekend with your love a little less miserable:
Movie marathon
Let’s not just limit this to movies. This marathon can consist of starting a brand new series together, watching nonstop Tasty videos online or anything your hearts desire. The two of you have nothing better to do, so you might as well be “productive” by binge watching something new. Check out what is trending or what you have saved on your watch list and see anything and everything until you and your favorite sick buddy both knock out from the meds.
Takeout galore
There is no such thing as a diet when you are sick, right? Don’t bother cooking and take out the delivery menus. Try to stick to hot soups or something spicy to get everything bad out of your systems. And if you can’t agree on one place, just order from them both. You are sick so why not spoil yourselves to feel slightly better?
Do nothing
Sometimes you are so sick you just don’t have the energy to do anything at all. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep and it honestly sucks. But if your partner is also sick, hold them tight and do nothing at all together. You are both already sick so there is no shame. And you don’t get many excuses to just lay around all day, so make the best of this bad situation.
In the end, being sick isn’t sexy. It is impossible, so just embrace it and hold your sick buddy close. The sooner you both of you feel better, the faster you will both be back to your normal selves.
