5 Homemade Facial Toners for Clear Skin

Nowadays, women and girls are more concerned with their looks than ever before. Obtaining and maintaining good looks means maintaining a healthy and clear skin. The majority of women prefer to use cosmetics and beauty products. For women who cannot afford to use these beauty products because they are expensive or they lack time, there is a solution that will work equally or better than the beauty products.

Women and girls have realized the importance of facial toners in maintaining a healthy skin. The best alternative to beauty products is homemade facial toners. Homemade facial toners are inexpensive to prepare and easy to use. They come from locally available resources like teas, vegetables, vinegar and herbs. Homemade toners allow women to make a blend depending on which suits them best. Also, homemade toners are fresh and can be stored for later use.

Rosewater-kombucha toner

Before you can even start the preparation of rosewater-kombucha toner, you have first to prepare the rosewater. Prepare rosewater from a combination of distilled water and rose petals. The rose petals should be fresh and free from pesticides and insecticides, as the chemicals may react with the skin. Rose petals are the only part of the rose flower that should be used. Using either the leaves or the stem does not achieve the desired results. Bring the distilled water to temperatures slightly below boiling, then add the rose petals to the steaming water and steep for about five minutes. After the distilled water takes the color of rose petals, it is time to strain and pour the solution into a bottle for use or future purposes. Rosewater can be used as a face toner or a cooking spice. The recipe for making rosewater-kombucha toner consists of one part kombucha and 10 parts rosewater. Once you have your ingredients, stir the mixture vigorously then pour into a bottle and store in a cool, dry place. The use of rosewater-kombucha toners is common in Turkish, Greek and Middle Eastern cultures.

Kombucha aloe toner

The ingredients for kombucha aloe toner include a half cup of kombucha, two drops of vitamin E oil, a quarter cup of aloe vera juice and 10 drops of essential oils. When choosing which oils to use, select pure oils as others may react with the skin. Mix the components in a single jar and stir thoroughly to ensure they mix sufficiently. Pour the mixture into a bottle for storage in a cool place like the refrigerator. The kombucha aloe toner is helpful for people with very oily face.

Apple mint toner

The recipe for apple mint toner consists of two tablespoons apple cider vinegar, four teaspoons chopped fresh mint and one and a quarter cups of water. While preparing this toner, mix the apple cider vinegar and mint and let the mixture sit at room temperature to allow the mint to infuse the vinegar. This infusion gives the mixture a lovely scent. Before storing the mixture, add water and stir thoroughly. After the three components are sufficiently mixed, pour the mixture into a bottle for storage. The apple mint toner can be used as a daily face cleaner or a refresher during a hot day.

Watermelon toner

Watermelon toner includes two tablespoons distilled water, one tablespoon rubbing alcohol or vodka and two tablespoons fresh watermelon juice. First, using a strainer, extract the watermelon juice. Depending on how fine you want the juice to be, you can use different types of sieves. Mix the watermelon juice with the water and vodka then stir vigorously to ensure the components are mixed sufficiently. Then pour the mixture into a bottle for storage.

Cucumber-green tea toner

The ingredients for cucumber-green tea toner include a quarter cup of steeped green tea, one tablespoon vodka and a quarter cup cucumber juice. First, extract the cucumber juice by either using a juicer, blender or food processor. Then prepare the green tea, sieve it and allow it to cool. Finally, mix the cold green tea with the cucumber juice adding vodka levels depending on the desirability. Pour the mixture into a bottle for storage in the refrigerator. The cucumber-green tea toner can be incorporated during a daily bath or as refresher during a hot day.

Women and girls are more concerned with their looks than ever before. These good looks come from obtaining and maintaining healthy skin. Homemade toners are the best ingredients to maintain a healthy skin. Every woman has an opportunity to prepare her recipe at home according to the ingredients that best suit her. The homemade toners are an alternative to beauty products and cosmetics.
