How to Create a Stylish Warm Winter Look

It can tough to look stylish yet practically dressed in one outfit. Every item of clothing really needs to be both trendy and tactical, and the difficulty of striking that balance goes up a few pegs come winter. After all, extreme weather is always a possibility at this time of year, so it is important to be prepared.

Still, as that craving for warmth becomes more prominent as winter rolls on, it is hardly fair that you need to compromise on your fashion sense along the way. No matter your gender, everyone is in the same boat here.

Consequently, here is how to create your very own stylish winter warmth look:

Thermal clothing

Let’s start with the basics. If the clothes you like most don’t work well enough alone for winter, then there is a common solution to be found; layer up! Of course, some clothes work better for layering than others, so you still need to have some intricate decision-making skills here. After all, your favorite winter jacket might not fit so well over your thickest or baggiest jumpers.

Consequently, you should consider investing in some thermal clothing. This material is thin enough to act as a quality first layer, while also retaining heat extremely efficiently too (which is what thermals are primarily famed for). Of course, some thermal clothing also doubles quite well as stylish sporting gear too. So if this is the look you want to carry off on a morning jog, you may not always need so many extra layers. Sometimes, a white t-shirt and some thermal jackets and joggers are enough!

Turtlenecks

Another piece of fashionable, gender-neutral clothing, turtlenecks are perfect for emphasizing both style and substance in one item. This is the article of clothing you want to top off a bunch of layers underneath, as it is thick enough that it won’t give away just how many tops you are wearing. Furthermore, turtlenecks are also perfect for hiding any extra weight you may have picked up over Christmas too!

Obviously, the warmth factor is a big plus here too. Because they completely cover the neck and torso, there is zero chance of the cold creeping through or under the clothing. Wearing one provides almost something of a cozy, hugging sensation, so when the winter winds are tough, the turtleneck is the go-to call. Ultimately, whether you are thin or have a fuller figure, the turtleneck is flattering for all body types and keeps every wearer warm.

Suede and shearling

Suede and shearling are materials that any gender can carry off expertly. From boots to jackets, both men and women flock to these types of aesthetics for that quality winter apparel that looks powerful and practical. For example, Belstaff has a range of high quality suede and shearling jackets that allow the wearer to feel protected and enforced as they traverse harsher weathers.

Of course, women have their own variations of these jackets too with all the same effects, along with sometimes softer textures to really hammer home that comfortable, snug fitting feel. Still, one of the many perks of this kind of clothing is the diversity. They can be worn in both formal or casual settings, seem both contemporary and yet old fashioned, and work well as the ‘cherry on the cake’ for thousands of outfit combinations. In the end, there is never a time in winter where suede and shearling outfits aren’t needed.
