All-Natural Deodorants Keep You Fresh

Summer is here and so are smelly armpits. I always use a clear gel deodorant, Secret to be exact. I like the way it glides on and hate the coldness of the gel, but it does its job keeping me smelling fresh and clean and not leaving any white reside on my mostly black clothing. So why even think about switching to the latest trend of all-natural deodorants?

To begin, you should know that sweating is a natural process that the body does to expel toxins that build up when your body starts to overheat. So preventing sweating is not really something that the body likes or needs. It is something we do to it by applying the only deodorants we have ever known. Deodorants sold at drugstores and most of the major brands like Secret use aluminum compounds, which have been linked to Alzheimer’s and breast cancer. There is also talk about parabens, another ingredient in deodorants that is thought to mess with estrogen levels.

One can read about the studies done to prove that these ingredients are harmful, and you will see conflicting results. So better be safe than sorry.

The belief is that by blocking the pores, which the aluminum compounds do, the sweat and bacteria mixture stay inside of you instead of being expelled through the body’s natural process causing things to happen in your body that are not healthy for it.

Always read the label on your deodorant and look for aluminum and parabens — manufacturers have to legally list this information. Now that there are plenty of options for natural deodorants, why not try one that might even be better for your razor burn by helping it heal faster and also great for your skin by allowing your body to perspire, but being really good at controlling the odor and killing the bacteria?

Below are some easily accessible natural deodorants and some you can buy online:

This spray is free of aluminum, butane, parabens, phthalates and artificial fragrances. It does not test on animals either, so it does not get any better than this.

Tom’s of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant provides aluminum-free odor protection with a great natural scent of lavender and several other scents that probably smell like the deodorants that you are used to wearing, so this might be a nice first time-try switchover. They also have fun scents for kids if you wanted to get your kids into using all-natural deodorants as well.
