One Heart, Two People
The finale of The Bachelorette is coming up, and everyone is on the edge of their seats wondering who JoJo Fletcher will end up with. She was on The Bachelor last season and found herself in a love triangle when the bachelor Ben Higgins said I love you to two women on the show. That stunned Fletcher at the time, but now she is finding herself in that same position.
Is it possible to passionately love more than one person? Of course it is. When you open up your heart to love, possibilities are endless. And yes, that includes falling for more than one person. Maybe you fall in love with different qualities of each person. You may have a more physical connection with one, but a more emotional connection with the other. Or, you may have a lot in common with one person, but find your opposite completes you. Whatever the case may be, your heart is certainly big enough to pass around. But that means you have to be careful with whoever or however many people you share it with.
How do you pick one love when your heart is split in two? Here are a couple ways to narrow it down:
Long-term or good time
Think about what you want. Are you trying to find love or lust? If you know you don’t want anything serious, go for the easy, quick choice. But if you want something more serious, pick the person you can see yourself with for a while. You need to know yourself and know your needs. Pick whoever fills your current needs and go with it.
Physical vs. emotional
You know yourself best out of everyone in the world. Some people like relationships in which a physical connection is the main focus, while others seek an emotional connection beyond that physical intimacy. Neither is better than the other, but you want to find someone who meets your needs and is compatible. Once you are honest with yourself, you will know where your heart truly lies.
You are your own greatest asset, but also your own greatest weakness. Don’t sabotage yourself in life. Follow your heart and be honest with yourself. While you may love two people, think about your own intentions and find your perfect match who reaches those standards. Love hard, but love smart and set your heart up for success.
