Having Fun Indoors
The world has recently suffered from a series of unfortunate events that are both tragic and scary. If you’re from the DMV, you’ve been taught to be aware of your surroundings day and night. But also keep in mind that you need to go on with your life without constant fear.
If your anxiety or fears are getting the best of you, it’s okay to go out less and stay in. But that doesn’t mean you have to stop having fun date nights. Don’t start building your safe room just yet, and live it up with that special someone.
Here are a few indoor date night ideas to ease your nerves:
Aprons on!
My boyfriend and I are obsessed with the new Tasty videos that pop up on Facebook and show you how to make quick, easy recipes. If you don’t usually have time to experiment in the kitchen, plan an indoor date night and get cooking. Couples cooking can be both fun and messy, so it’ll definitely be a good time. Set up the table with some candles and flowers for a romantic setting once you are done messing around in the kitchen.
Dirty little secret
If you’re bored while staying indoors on date night, spice things up with a scandalous game or two. Sure you and your significant other probably know a lot about each other already, but see if you can dig up any more dirt. From games like Never Have I Ever to Truth or Dare, play with caution. It’ll be careless fun unless your deep, dark secret is too much to handle.
Movie marathon
Have a throwback movie night. Make some hot chocolate and have food delivered because you aren’t moving one bit. Pick a favorite series or trilogy you want to re-watch and be determined to finish. I know my boyfriend is forcing me to watch all six Star Wars movies before the new one comes out, so I definitely already have our date planned out with Sriracha pizza and all; feel free to join us! Plus if you get tired, you can always fool around on the couch until the credits roll.
Don’t be afraid to go outdoors, but do be cautious. If you are hesitant or just not willing to face the cold weather, stay in and make date night festive. Chug some Red Bull and stay up all night with your loved one. But still go out to dinner and bars, and adventure out without fear. But if you want a lazy day date, try these idea and more for a change.
