When you live and work in the city, it’s hard to venture out to the burbs and beyond. Anything beyond Penn Quarter, H Street or Georgetown is really foreign to me. So if I do venture out and leave the city– it better be worth it. That’s where Quench comes in.
Quench is a modern urban bar and restaurant with “Crafted cocktails, modern cuisine and laid back luxury.” And the drive isn’t that bad at all. It’s actually nice to get on the George Washington Parkway and see a little greenery for a change! And for those living in the area (located in Rockville, MD) this place has the “suburban convenience mixed in with the city cool.”
Quench can seat about 60 peeps but there’s a bonus patio that seats about 25. FREE PARKING and a PATIO to sip my cocktails?! Love it.
Check out the full cocktail menu (PDF). Sex in the Suburbs, Honey Badger, and the Metro-Textural are all ahhhhmaze!!!! Let’s not forget about the food. Three cocktails in and I know it’s time for some bites.
Anything from small salads, crab chips (made in house with real crab and topped with Old Bay seasoning (it is Maryland after all) to pierogies and chickpea tacos…There is something for everyone. For those with a sweet tooth and who want to digress right back to childhood– check out the house made Twinkie of the day. View the full menu(PDF).
So hightail it out to 9712 Traville Gateway Drive, Rockville and get your Quench on. City slickers and suburbanites can all co-mingle in this ultra hip comfortable bar and restaurant.
Check out their Facebook page for deals and promotions and follow them on Twitter @QuenchNation. I even hear there is a “secret menu” in the works for people in the know, so be sure to follow the clues on the social media pages.
Happy eating and drinking!
