Located at 575 Seventh St. NW, between two empty storefronts in the Terrell Place building just steps from the Galley Place metro station, will be open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. The Penn Quarter location seats 26.

The original Fresh Baguette opened in Bethesda in 2013. There are other locations in Georgetown, Cleveland Park, Alexandria, Rockville and McLean.

Fresh Baguette uses only organic ingredients and makes dozens of varieties of bread. It also makes Viennese pastries, quiches and prepared sandwiches using its breads, baguettes and croissants. All products are made at production centers in Bethesda and Germantown, baked and delivered to the shops fresh every morning. Bread loaves and croissants are baked in each shop throughout the day.

The bakery makes five flavors of croissants – plain, chocolate, passionfruit, almond and Nutella. Sweets include cinnamon rolls, apple turnovers and raisin buns; muffins, including blueberry and double chocolate; pumpkin, lemon and banana walnut breads; flourless brownies; chocolate, vanilla and coffee eclairs; Napoleons; macarons; and a variety of tarts, including raspberry, Normande, yuzu lemon meringue and pistachio orange blossom.

The menu also include baguette sandwiches, cro’gels – bagels made with croissant dough; quiche; ham and cheese croissants; ham croque monsieurs; and hot dog croissants. Cakes and tarts that serve six or more can be ordered in advance for pick-up or delivery.

Baguettes and bread loaves range from $4.20-$9.10, while sweets range from $4.10-$9.30, savory items from $6.45-$13.65 and large cakes and tarts from $45.90-$52.90.

There is also a coffee club. Its Fresh Baguette Club is a coffee subscription for coffee, cappuccinos, iced lattes and others for $9.95 a month. It has a maximum five medium or large drinks a day. Members also get 15 percent off other items except catering.

“Our team pours their passion for French baking into every creation, and we can’t wait to share our delicious products with Penn Quarter,” said Florent de Felcourt, founder and CEO, in a press release.

As part of the Gallery Place opening, Fresh Baguette will sell $5 coupon booklets with all proceeds benefiting the Woodley House Food Pantry, which offers food staples, personal care items and bagged groceries to D.C. residents in need. Also on opening day, plain croissants will be $2 each while supplies last.
