Is There Love in the Stars for You?
Some say it is all in the stars – and by that, they mean astrology. For those who have managed to avoid any and all checkout lines at the grocery store, newsstands or simply live under a rock, astrology (when broken down into simple terms) is the study of how distant cosmic objects, like stars and planets, impact humans and our everyday lives.
Those who follow their astrological zodiac read their horoscope like it is the Bible. Many teen and young-adult magazines feature predictions for each sign and what those people can expect to happen in the upcoming month, and offer advice on various subjects from friendships and fortunes to success and even love.
When you are young, you think it is all just a game. But as you get older and “Mercury in retrograde” really starts to hit you, it all seems to be too true to be fake. You start to think, “Can the stars really predict the course of my love life?” I have heard both sides. There are those who call astrology’s bluff, and think it is all just an elaborate joke. How can the stars dictate my current or future relationship? To be fair, thinking stars can predict whether or not your relationship will work out is kind of a silly idea. Then again, if it is all just a joke, how are so many horoscopes on point?
I am not going to lie. I have had a few times when my horoscope was a bit off. Like there is a big challenge coming my way one month that doesn’t, or I am going to win the jackpot and clearly I haven’t unless I misplaced that lottery ticket. But for the most part, I am on the zodiac bandwagon.
As a Libra (go Oct. 19th!), the description of my zodiac sign is me and I am that description – we are one and the same, and it is almost scary how accurate it is. Many of my friends and people I know are also onboard and firm believers. That even goes as far as using it as a tool before dating someone. This isn’t to say they ask every guy they meet what their sign is, but if they are getting serious with someone, they take a peek at their sign and look up whether or not they will be compatible in the long haul.

My significant other is a Gemini, and I waited to check our compatibility until five years down the line. Luckily, the stars confirmed what I knew all along. We are a match. But this isn’t to say we are a 100 percent perfect match. As with any relationship, there are many things we need to work on such as learning to compromise to ensure a happy, healthy relationship in the long run.
I recently stumbled upon astrology-zodiac-signs.com that lets you compare you and your partner’s signs to see how compatible or not you are in different areas like values, trust, communication, intimacy and more. Check it out for yourself if you are curious!
Overall, will the results define your relationship? Clearly no. That is on you and the effort you and your partner put into your relationship. However, it is something fun to look into. And if it is accurate, congrats. If not, ignore everything I just said. Best of luck and I hope the stars align for you and your loved one!
