Is an Artificial Hormone Essential for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis?

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is a condintion in which the body’s immune system attachks the thyroid, a gland located in the front of the neck below the adam’s apple. This can lead to hypothyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid does not make enough hormones for the body’s needs. Recovering the normal function of the thyroid to ensure that it can produce its own hormones often requires time and commitment. Many people will use manufactured replacement hormones, which is fine. On the other hand, people who do not want to use manufactured hormones for the rest of their lives may seek an organic and natural treatment.

Do not stop taking your thyroid hormone

Although there is the potential of rebuilding the normal functionality of the thyroid through organic treatment options for people who have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, it is important not to quit taking manufactured thyroid hormones.

In some cases, using manufactured hormones is important, such as in most cases when individuals have had radioactive iodine or have had their hypothyroid surgically removed. Everyone’s scenario is different, which clearly implies that each person with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis shoulc be treaded on a cases-by-case basis.

Think about organic treatment for Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

If you want to recover the normal functionality of your thyroid through organic treatment options, so you do not have to depend on manufactured hormones, here are some things you can do:

Step 1: Talk to your endocrinologist or primary care physician

The majority of endocrinologists and general professionals will not encourage you to treat your problem through organic techniques. Being suspicious of the performance of organic treatment options, they will probably tell you that it can be harmful to deal with an autoimmune thyroid problem the natural way.

The fact is it can be harmful if you do not get treatment from a qualified healthcare provider. Many people try to deal with their illness on their own, while some might talk to a self-proclaimed organic healbot with no true qualifications. This can be dangerous and isn’t advised.

Step 2: Talk to a healthcare provider that specializes on endocrine problems

It can be challenging to find an alternative Thyroid Pharmacist or doctor that specializes in endocrine system problems, but they can be found with a little exploration. You do have to be cautious here as well, because a few “holistic doctors” will just recommend organic thyroid hormone instead of artificial thyroid hormone, and never do anything whatsoever to try to recover the normal functionality of the thyroid gland.
