Fall 2017 Fashion Trends
Fall is right around the corner, and we have all seen the social media influencers make the subtle shift from flamingo pool floats to distressed denim and oversized tunics despite the fact it is only August and the temperature is rising. When the kids go back to school and Starbucks brings back all things pumpkin spice, we all long for shorter days, cooler nights and every chance to wear those gorgeous over-the-knee boots Stuart Weitzman made popular last season. It is time for fall fashion, and here is what is in this season.
Fringe is in
From our handbags to our shoes, fringe is the hottest new style for fall 2017. It is embellishing everything from earrings to mini-skirts and fringe jackets, and we can’t help but feel a lot of love for this hippie fashion. It is back and better than ever, and it is going to bring boho-chic back with a vengeance this season. It is everywhere, and you won’t escape it.
Bling is back
We aren’t talking about diamonds, even though we are getting to that shortly. This year, it is all about the bling in terms of glitter, and it is more than just evening wear. Glittery skirts, tops, shoes and jackets are the new favorite this fall, even though most people feel glitter is more of an evening-appropriate material. Expect to see it used in a casual manner this fall, and expect to own at least one or two glittery items of your own before the season is over.
Diamond rings
Fall means one thing for many men. It means it is time to start looking at engagement rings to pop the big question during the Christmas Eve family dinner, sweetly all by yourselves on Christmas morning or as the ball drops at the beginning of the New Year. It is engagement season, and we know a thing or two about finding the most stylish diamonds in fall 2017.
Gentlemen, women love a solitaire. It will never go out of style, and she will happily accept an engagement ring with one perfect diamond to wear as part of her wedding rings. The key is that it must be a flawless stone with perfect clarity and color. Size is less important than what is inside. Otherwise, you might consider buying the love of your life a ring that has a colored accent, such as gorgeous rubies or emeralds surrounding a flawless diamond.
If your love isn’t simple, try an intertwined band. These are the eternity bands of the engagement world, and they are hotter than ever right now. Most women find them intriguing, but their simplistic beauty is never going to fade. It is an elegant twist on a classic staple. The best way to find the perfect engagement ring is to start looking now so you have time to find the perfect ring before you propose. Take it from one woman who knows a thing or two about diamonds. If you really want to impress her, you will consider taking her favorite aspects and custom designing an engagement ring that will blow her away. Her wedding rings are forever, and they should look like it from day one.
Bold and beautiful
The last year or so has been all about natural beauty. We have been encouraged to embrace minimalism. Forgo the heavy eyeshadow and liner, embrace the neutral lip shades and really focus on looking as naturally beautiful as possible. Fall 2017 is taking the exact opposite direction. It is all about finding the perfect balance of bold and beautiful without being overdone. Think bright eyeshadow and heavy liner, and don’t forget to pair it with a dark lip in a very berry shade. Forget the girly pinks and the bold reds. It is all about bold and beautiful and rich.
A blast from the past
If you are like the rest of us, you are super excited about what fall 2017 has to offer in terms of gorgeous footwear, and I will give you a few major hints. The number one shoe trend for fall 2017 is a major blast from the past. We are talking basic Adidas tennis shoes. All white with three black stripes, and they are being worn with everything from dresses to skirts to skinny jeans.
If you are looking for something a little dressier, it is all about the statement heel. Simple and stylish might be all the rage when it comes to classic footwear, but this fall is all about the bold heel when it comes to style. I am talking about heels that don’t even look like heels. They are covered in bling, they look like animals or other décor and they are completely impractical. You will end up with several pair for certain.
Cutouts
It started this summer, and it is working its way into the fall. The big trend for fall 2017 is the cutout. You want sweatshirts that lace up the back. You want tops that have no back. You want distressed denim, sweaters with large pieces missing down the arms or back. Essentially, you want to find warm clothes for cool nights that do anything but keep you warm with all the missing pieces. It is all for fashion, my friends.
The crown jewels
In the past, we have been taught simple jewels make a big statement. In fall 2017, we are telling you to forget everything you know and focus on making a big statement with big jewelry. Earrings that are long and bold, major necklaces and more bracelets than you can imagine all stacked up your arm at one time are hot right now. Think bigger is better when it comes to your jewelry. The good news for fashionistas on a budget this year, however, is these jewels need not be the real deal. Go faux or go home.
Fashion is temporary, but style is forever. If you have it, you have it. If not, you will find a way to make it happen by learning what is in and how to wear it this fall. Take it from us. To make a statement, pick one or two favorites per outfit and go with basics the rest of the way. A fringe blazer might be cute with a simple tee and jeans, but less so with that glitter gown and those statement heels. Do it, but don’t overdo it.
