Join Emma on Her Search for a Clearer Back
As the new year starts, I would like to think that my body starts anew as well. But, the sad truth is that my back is still riddled with acne scars from acne I had before treatments and from new acne that I vigorously scrub off during treatment. I hate my acne scars, most specifically on my face and back, but my back seems to annoy me more since you cannot cover those up with concealer.
I decided that this year I am going to try a new acne body scrub every two weeks and see which one works the fastest in that time frame.
For the past year, I have been using this Alba’s Acne Dote, but it really does not do much for my skin. I suppose it keeps my back acne at bay, but it does not make it better. It just sort of keeps the acne as is.
This year I am looking for something potent to deliver a drastic difference, one that is noticeable so I can feel better wearing blouses that show my back without fear of embarrassment. Let me reiterate that acne is not caused by poor hygiene, rather by your genes and the rate that your body produces sebum, which is the oil that causes acne. Granted, poor hygiene will make it worse and not help in keeping your skin clear, but you can have the most exceptional hygiene and still get acne. It is really all about finding the products that work best for your acne-prone skin.
Below are the three highest rated acne washes that I will be trying this year:
Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Face and Body Soap is a bar of soap, which makes it easy to use in the shower on your entire body. It does not have a scent and is supposed to work really well at drying up new acne. It comes with a container that makes it easy to transfer the bar of soap from your sink to your shower. It is part of the Clinique acne treatment system.
Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads includes jojoba, which helps exfoliate dead skin cells. Since acne scars are mostly made of dead skin cells, clearer skin should be noticeable with this scrub. It also includes glycolic acid and oil-absorbing ingredients that help prevent future breakouts.
Murad Acne Complex Acne Body Wash
is a 2015 Allure product winner, so you know it has to have plenty of good reviews. The great thing about it is that italso includes green tea and licorice root extracts to help soothe irritated skin, which can result so often from the other ingredients that most acne products include. It is supposed to work even better when followed by Murad’s Clarifying Body Spray, which penetrates into the pores on your back to stop new acne from forming.
