How to Stay Together While Apart

Long distance relationships aren’t easy, but are possible with a little effort. You need to acknowledge whether both parties are committed to each other. If you are kind and your heart is in it, that is the first step.

Here are a few ways to make sure your long distance relationship works in the long run:

Be comfortable

If you are going to commit to a serous relationship, you need to believe it will work. You both must be comfortable with the distance and agree to put in the extra effort. But, you also have to believe in yourself. If you doubt it, you will struggle in trusting your significant other. Do not be afraid to be truly honest with yourself and feel things out before committing to anything. You need to be comfortable with this change for it to be successful.

Be creative

If you are going to be apart, you are going to have to get creative. Communication is essential, but talking about the same thing can be boring so you need to spice things up. Be spontaneously sexy or funny, and try wearing something fun on Skype. If you want keep things alive, you will need to change up your routine to keep each other entertained.

Be caring

You need to acknowledge struggle. If your significant other is having a hard time, you can’t just brush it off. You need to show you care and let them vent. Then you need to figure out a solution to your problem together. If you show you care, your significant other will feel comforted and you can move on to a better place without ill feelings towards each other.

Relationships are hard, and they are even harder when there is distance. While it won’t be easy, it is possible if both parties are committed. Expect ups and downs, and stay true to yourself. If it is meant to be, it will be worth the extra effort.
