What Should the Local Smashburger Be?
Smashburger restaurants across the country feature a local burger. In Vegas, it is the Sin City burger with fried egg, applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions and smash sauce on an egg bun. Alabama locations serve the Dixie with white BBQ sauce, shredded leaf lettuce, fried green tomato, mayo and aged Swiss on an egg bun. Denver-area Smashburgers serve the Colorado with grilled green chilies, cheddar, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a spicy chipotle bun. And the new D.C.-area restaurants are serving the Capital with grilled onions, aged Swiss, baby arugula, applewood-smoked bacon, tomatoes and mayo on a brioche bun.
But does grilled onions, Swiss cheese, arugula, bacon, tomatoes and mayo say DMV to you? We don’t think so. Our area is known for blue crabs, Virginia ham, half-smokes and lame ducks.
Now you can win two (2) free entrees at any Smashburger including Dupont, Bethesda, Tysons, Gaithersburg and Vienna by submitting the best idea for the new local burger. Just like DC on Heels on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Tweet what you think would epitomize the DMV on a bun. We’ll pick two winners and submit your ideas to Smashburger. This contest ends at midnight on Jan. 6, 2014.
