Color of the Year 2014: Radiant Orchid

As 2013 comes to a close, so does the color emerald. Pantone announced last week that Radiant Orchid is the color of 2014, and we are quite pleased with this news. The hue, falling somewhere between pink and purple, has been highlighted in Spring 2014 designer collections.

Pantone’s annual color pick is believed to strongly influence the realms of fashion, beauty and home decor, even extending to kitchen appliances (Keurig’s MINI Plus coffee machine in Radiant Orchid will be available in February.)

Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman said “It’s an invitation to innovation … Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”

There’s nothing wrong with inspiring a little creativity. And why wait until spring to show off the hue? I don’t know about you, but I’m already shopping for a Radiant Orchid handbag. This Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC might do the trick!
