Tyson’s Store Celebrates First Anniversary
DJ PhilZ spinning on the 1s and 2s — check. The beautiful people and Washington fashionista’s invited — check. Champagne poured and awaiting guests in sparkling flutes — check. Beautiful and stylishly dressed staff on hand to bring you your heart’s desires — check. Intermix at Tysons Galleria’s first anniversary party was underway!
Washingtonians often complain about driving out to Tysons Corner on a weeknight with the traffic, but it was well worth it. The racks were brimming full with lots of luxurious tasty morsels that tempted shoppers away from the champagne and macaroons.
Blogger Elizabeth Fassbender of So Much to Smile About served as hostess of an evening of fall designer fashion. The theme of the eve could have been “Cashmere, Leather and Fur — Oh My!” The racks were full of fall designer labels from Herve Leger to Rag & Bone.
The first piece that caught my eye was Yigal Azrouel’s red jacquard sheath, exclusive to Intermix. This red jacquard on a white background sheath begs to be worn for a special dinner out to your favorite date spot with your boyfriend on the night he might pop the question. The dress has a raised jacquard pattern, white leather inserts and a mandarin collar that adds to the visual delight of this form fitting stunner.
Next, I spotted two pairs of Jean-Michel Cazabat pointy toe color block pumps in purple. I would wear these with rocker-chick leather pants, a pencil skirt or to dress up jeans. The pumps are made of a rich supple suede with chic gold leather tips. In these, you will definitely illicit your fair share of shoe envy from friends.
Another hot item was the J Brand red skinny jeans. During the colder months, many women revert to black everything — black sweaters, black dresses, black jeans. All that black tends to make fall and winter even more of a downer. The solution? Snag a pair of these cheery bright red jeans to add a pop of color to your wardrobe. Grab a gorgeous L’Agence designed white satin long sleeved blouse to wear with them while you are at it. The 100 perecent silk blouse feels incredible to the touch and has a tailored look with top stitching at a flat collar. Throw Helmut Lang’s long black leather coat on with it or even better to amp up your luxury quotient, another Intermix exclusive Adrienne Andou’s black fox fur vest over that blouse to complete your new fab look.
Mix it up a little by getting Rag & Bone’s Tatiana tweed shorts, exclusive to Intermix too. Shorts for fall and winter have been the trend for a year or two, but update this trend by choosing these black and white houndstooth shorts with black leather trim. They can worn over tights or leggings, or thrown on with Rag & Bone black booties also available in store. According to sales staff, the Rag & Bone Kinsey leather ankle bootie has been THE style of choice for this location’s customers.
If you are not into fur vest or jackets, but don’t want to be left out, pick up Menchi for Intermix’s camel colored wool and cashmere blend coat with leather trim. A good quality trendy wool coat is always a good bet in D.C.’s iffy weather. This one is so versatile in our ever changing climate. The collar is big and generous. It can be scrunched up around the neck or brought all the way over the head and used as a hood! It’s like having three coats in one!
Another little in store treasure is a Herve Leger flared skirt scalloped edge banded dress in red. It could be paired with a moto jacket, boots or fur vest.
You can’t go wrong with a little fur in the fall. It immediately dresses up a casual outfit or basic sheath. It can be worn with jeans or a cocktail dress. Intermix has prefect little fun pieces. Look for the pieced Rex Rabbit hooded vest by Yves Salmon. This vest is so lush when you run your hands across it, you easily mistake it for something more expensive. Open the jacket and you are greeted by a sumptuous 100 percent silk lining. It exudes luxury and would fit in so well with many a fashionista’s closet.
360 Cashmere’s gray with tan strip turtleneck poncho sweater will keep you warm and fashion forward. Pair the poncho with skinny jeans.
Annabell of New York’s real fur natural raccoon pom pom hat will also catch your eye. It is so cute. You put it on and you just can’t wait for the snow the begin falling. Who knows what Mother Nature will throw our way but at least Intermix at Tyson Galleria’s latest finds will ensure that you will at least be beautifully dressed for it!
