Ideas for an Unforgetable Bridal Shower

If you’ve been put in charge of your best friend’s bridal shower, you’re bound to want to make it as unforgettable as possible. After all, she’s only getting married once (hopefully!) so this will be your only chance to do her proud and organize a shower that she’ll remember forever.

Don’t underestimate the job you’ve been given though. A good shower requires a lot of organization, and you need to stay on top of your game throughout the whole process. From planning activities to collecting money from the guests, it’s up to you to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Of course, you can ask for help from bridesmaids and others if required but, more often than not, it’s up to you to ensure that the party is jam-packed full of sparkle, mischief and fun.

One of the first things you need to decide is whether to stick to a simple evening of entertainment or to extend the celebration for a weekend (or longer, sometimes!). It’s amazing how affordable a weekend away can be nowadays, which is why many bridal showers choose to head off on a weekend full of shenanigans – it’s certainly not beyond the realms of expectations.

Think long and hard about what the bride-to-be loves and try to incorporate some of it into the weekend. If she loves dressing up, perhaps a women’s fancy dress theme is in order? With a great range of women’s fancy dress from George at ASDA, you can decide on a theme that is accessible and affordable for all of the girls.

The next step is to decide on a few ideas you would like to incorporate into the weekend so that when you invite the guests, you will be able to provide them with a rough idea of costs as well as a vague itinerary. Here are some fabulous ideas to consider:

Burlesque

This activity is becoming increasingly popular, especially since burlesque is becoming more and more mainstream. Have you ever fancied yourself as a wannabe Dita von Teese? Book the girls in for a burlesque afternoon and master the art of seduction, complete with feather boas and ostrich fans.

Life drawing

Is the bride-to-be a lover of art? Does she dabble with a sketchbook? A life drawing class would be a fabulous way to pass an afternoon – even better if you arrange for a nude male model to be the object of your sketching desires. Much classier than a stripper!

Afternoon tea

A great way to enjoy each other’s company and get to know the girls you don’t know, afternoon tea is a luxurious way to pass a couple of hours. Finger sandwiches, savory delights and sweet treats galore, accompanied by tea from some beautiful fine china or a glass of bubbly – sounds like the bride-to-be’s cup of tea? Then, go for it!

While these are three ideas for the afternoon frivolities, the night time is completely up to you! Does the future bride love to party? We hope so! Make sure that you all paint the town red at least once during the weekend and be safe in the knowledge that the girls will go home with huge smiles and the ultimate respect for you, for planning the perfect bridal shower.
