Furloughed Employees Offered Discounts

The U.S. government ran out of money at 12:01 a.m. this morning and for the first time in 17 years has shutdown. Hundreds of thousand of government workers have been furloughed. The shutdown includes the Smithsonian museums including the National Zoo, the monuments, the National Archives, the Library of Congress and the D.C. golf courses. Evens weddings planned for the Mall have to be canceled or moved.

With the largest concentration of those laid off employees here in the D.C. area, what are you to do? Well many restaurants are offering furloughed federal employees discounts when you present your government employee ID.
