Sex and the City Today
Washington now has Olivia Pope, but the Big Apple will forever have Carrie Bradshaw.
A writer for Slate recently lamented after re-watching Sex & the City as an adult, the series seemed more unrealistic. She did not address the fashion in the post, but this blogger can still completely relate to Carrie’s overspending habits. As I’m heading up to New York City for a summer getaway soon, here’s how I imagine the blonde writer bombshell would dress today:
The $4,500 silk tulle dress is a nod to the opening SATC credits. The modern details include the neon accents and a little peplum.
These Manolo Bhalniks are (only?) $384 and go on the transparent trend.
And of course, Love will never go out of style.
A friend recently remarked, “I don’t think Carrie was a hopeless romantic; she was a hopeful one.”
