How to Get Tangles Out of Your Hair

Ever since going blonde, I have had an extremely hard time combing my hair after a shower. I use conditioners that are specifically for dry hair, which is what happens to your hair after getting blonde highlights. But for some reason it seems like this time the tangles and knots after my shower have gotten worse, and I get very frustrated spending more than the usual 10 minutes on my hair each morning.

Because this is the lightest I have ever gone, maybe the chemicals used to bleach my hair to get those highlights were too strong for my already frizzy, unruly hair. I will probably need to change my shampoo and conditioner to something geared towards very dry and brittle hair.

In the mean time, I need something that will help me untangle the knots in my hair. I am not sure if it is just because my hair is drier after my most recent salon session, or if the weather has something to do with it as well, but I am in dire need of help to save my poor golden tresses from being pulled out every morning.

I looked at detangling sprays at my local pharmacy, but nothing seemed to be what I needed. I wanted something that had special ingredients or that stood out in some way that made me think, “Oh this is what my hair definitely needs.” So I went online and wasn’t disappointed.

The two products that really caught my eye were Not Your Mother’s Knotty to Nice Conditioning Detangler and SheaMoisture Superfruit Multi-Vitamin Leave-in Detangler. They both include ingredients that I knew my hair needs.

The Knotty to Nice detangler is infsued with Brazilian keratin, which is known to make hair shiny and leave it straight and silky smooth. It also does not weigh heavily on your hair since it is a light spritz, but still is strong enough to take out those messy tangles. It is lightly scented, so nothing too strong if you are not into strong smelling hair products. You can leave it in your hair overnight if you want it to penetrate deeper than spritzing it on after the shower allows. I did this and got wonderful results from sleeping with it in my hair at night. This is a great detangler for an affordable price.

The Superfruit multi-vitamin detangler has more ingredients that are supposed to do more for your hair then just detangle. The product includes a special blend that includes ingredients from raspberry ketones to guava and shea butter, which will condition, hydrate and detangle your hair. It also includes biotin to help keep your hair strong and keep its elasticity. What is not to love about all the health benefits for your hair included in this detangler? It does have a very strong odor of mixed fruit, which I personally loved. It weighs your hair down since is more like a lotion, but if you have heavy hair, this will help keep the frizziness down. It is a bit more pricey, but well worth it if you are looking for more than just a detangler in your hair product.
