Celebrate Father’s Day with a Special Meal

Father’s Day is coming up Sunday. What better way to show Dad how much you love him than by giving him a break from grill duty this weekend. Many area restaurants are offering Father’s Day specials, so why not take him out for brunch or dinner? But a special meal is on the agenda for your special dad, you better make reservations now.

Central, 1001 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, is offering a prix-fixe bottomless Father’s Day brunch with three big courses for a hungry guy priced at $27. Dishes include goat cheese Caesar salad, eggs Benedict, corned beef hash, yogurt parfait, fried chicken and waffles, the restaurant’s signature crème brulee French toast or its Franco-American pancrepes. For an addition $10, add bottomless bacon bloody Marys, mimosas or bellinis.

City Tap House, 901 9th St. NW, is offering dinner specials beginning at 5 p.m. along with its regular menu. Dad can enjoy three different styles of pork ribs including chipotle glazed, hickory smoked and Memphis dry rub. Dinner is priced at $25 per person and includes cornbread, brick oven-baked beans and sweet corn with chipotle butter or coleslaw. Dads will also receive a complimentary pint of one of City Tap House’s craft beers, and children under 10 years old will eat free from the kids’ dinner menu.

Co Co Sala, 929 F St. NW, is serving a special prix-fixe multi-course brunch menu beginning at 11 a.m. with dishes such as Triple D flatbread, crispy creole crabcakes and grown-up bacon grilled chese with truffle-scented brioche. There’s also a special Dad’s Day dessert featuring Jack Daniels, chocolate, banana and bacon. The meal is $34 and includes a brunch cocktail and chocolate surprise for Dad. An a la carte brunch menu will also be served. It is also selling chocolate gifts such as a chocolate ‘stache for $2, chocolate cigars for $3, chocolate enrobed bacons for $8, a chocolate remote control for $12 and Hennessey truffles for $13. The gifts are also available at Co Co Sala’s Union Market shop, 1309 Fifth St. NE.

Del Campo, 777 I St. NW, is offering its summertime asado priced at $45 per person. The fixed-price, family-style meat board starts with grilled provoleta and salad before a main event of flank steak, sweetbreads, chicken, short-ribs and chorizo.

Et Voila!, 5120 MacArthur Blvd. NW, will celebrate Father’s Day with man-hungry dinner specials, which will be available in addition to their regular a la carte menu from 5-10 p.m.. The specials include marinated beef Napoleon with mushrooms and asparagus; New York strip with béarnaise and yellow beans; soft shell crab tempura with napa cabbage and ginger dressing. For dessert, Dad can savor Café Liégeois, a cold dessert of French origin made from lightly sweetened coffee, coffee flavor ice cream and Chantilly cream. Prices range from $10-$28.50. Also, fathers will receive a complimentary 16-ounce monogrammed pilsner glass to commemorate the day.

Graffiato, 707 6th St. NW, is offering a $20 bottomless D.C Brau beer option from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. with Sunday brunch.

Kapnos, 2201 14th St. NW, is offering a free beer to all fathers including Victory Brewery’s Summer Love, part of the restaurant’s June tap takeover.

Kapnos Taverna, 4000 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, will offer Dad a free Port City or Champion Killer beer.

MET Bethesda, 7101 Democracy Blvd., Unit 3200, Bethesda in the Westfield Montgomery Mall, will celebrate with two man-hungry specials. Exclusively during brunch service, dads can enjoy a surf and turf benedict with beef filet, Maine lobster and poached egg served on an English muffin with hollandaise and potatoes for $28. During brunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m., it will also offer a 42-ounce prime bone-in ribeye that serves two people along with two one-and-a-half pound grilled Maine lobsters served with bacon wrapped scalloped potatoes and Brussels sprout slaw for $49 per person.

Mio Restaurant, 1110 Vermont Ave. NW, will serve brunch from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. that features an array of Puerto Rican specialties, as well as traditional brunch fare. Additionally, all dads will receive a complimentary gift bag of four, two-ounce bottles of flavored rums from Puerto Rico which include mojito, lemon, coconut and passion fruit. Brunch prices range from $6 to $26.

While supplies last, Old Town Pour House, 212 Ellington Blvd., Gaithersburg, will give dads who order one of the more than 90 local and global draft beers a free Lagunitas Mason Jar beer glass. The restaurant is also offering three special dishes: beer-brined baby back ribs with fresh corn on the cob, coleslaw, house-made BBQ sauce and olive oil parsley fries for $19; Yuengling braised pork belly with Old Bay-poached shrimp, corn spätzle and celery root puree for $14; and pan-seared Atlantic cod cake sandwich with baby arugula, watercress, tomato and dill caper aioli on brioche for $12.
