If you were watching the stream of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner this past weekend in D.C., you may have noticed a certain sultry someone sitting in front of Kevin Spacey’s table.
I knew that face. That look! I recognized her from Instagram. I had stumbled upon Monika Chiang’s profile probably while posting a #heels hashtag. And I keep following because her personal style is intriguing in its modern take on mixing and matching (and these pearly heels are to die for).

As you can see, this relatively new designer aims to rock every look for herself and for her clients. She knows how to up the ante on the tomboy look with feminine, bold accents. So what’s Monika feeling for spring 2013?
She tells us: “I’m loving light/flowy athletic pieces with a glam luxe vibe. I wear my silk anorak as a dress or pair silk track pants with great (editor’s note: you guessed it) heels.”
Dear M, thanks for reminding us to be confident and wear heels, especially on #shoesdaytuesday. The raven-haired beauty adds she’s hopeful about adding a location in Washington. We’d love to have her back strutting the streets!
