2nd Annual Running of the Chihuahuas
If you want to run with the bulls, then go to Spain BUT if you want to attend D.C.’s funniest Cinco de Mayo celebration then you are in luck. It’s back and it’s time for the 2nd Annual Running of the Chihuahuas!
When: Saturday, May 4, 2013 | 11 am to 2 pm (rain date, May 11)
Where: Kastles Stadium, 800 Water St. SW, Washington, DC 20024
Why: A benefit for PAWS Southwest, a non-profit group building a dog park in the SW neighborhood
What: Chihuahua races, food trucks, beer stand, dog contests, a family friendly FREE event!
Don’t have a Chihuahua?
Don’t worry. You can still take part in the fun with all breed contests for best dressed dog and best trick! Music, food, water and beverages will be on site, plus fun stuff from D.C.’s pet friendly businesses.
The deadline to register online is Thursday, May 2, walk-ups on race day accepted until all spots are full. $20 per dog to race, no admission fee for the event. This is a family friendly event, but you must be 21+ to drink beer. All race fees will be donated to Southwest Dog Park efforts. To enter and for more information, visit www.ontaponline.com/race!
