Hot Lip Trends for Fall 2018

Fall is unofficially here, so which current lipstick trends will make it big? Every year we look to the runway for which trends we can borrow and incorporate into our daily lives. And the lipstick trends for fall 2018 are hotter then ever. Last year we had nude-colored lipsticks and dark berry lips, which were great. But this year the runway has amped it up a notch, and we can have a bit more fun with our lipstick choices.

This year instead of regular berry lips, we have shiny berry upper lips. These are great because nothing beats a dark red lip. It gives every woman that classy, elegant look, but the glossiness of it makes it look even more haute couture, which this season will be acceptable at work places and offices in the DMV. DMV style for the most part is a conservative one. But it is fun when offbeat looks and trends get normalized so a person in the DMV can pull it off at their jobs.

My second favorite go-to lip trend for this season is the pastel pink lip. How cute is a pastel lip? Like the nude colored lips that were popular last year, we now can go with a pastel color that is closest to our natural lip color. The trick is that it is on the lighter side, so instead of choosing a nude color that is brown or taupe, you can go with the lighter pink shades that match your lips and then make sure it is a pastel color. It will give your lips that nice, icy winter feel and can also be paired with most outfits since the color is also a neutral one.

Last, but not least are metallic lips. Metallic lips are in, and they have never been sexier. When you think of the lip color trends that are in style such as the shiny dark berry lip or light pastel pinks, you already have a cool lip. Throw in the metallic, which has a pinch of glitter, and your lips have a very reflective look because the sparkles. Now you have a sexy lip that goes from PG to R with just the brush of metallic in your lip color.

L’Oreal Paris’ Lips Metallic line has some great metallic lip colors. Focallure’s Metallic Waterproof Lip Gloss Liquid Lipstick #38 is a beautiful rose gold metallic lip color that is a matte, which would be more appropriate for a night out in the DMV.
