Beauty Advent Calendars to Give as Gifts
Christmas has come and it came early! Well, that is if you are like me and have looked through all the beauty Advent calendars you have received. I call it research; I have many different types of women in my family, and I need to know which one is right for which lady.
If you have never heard of a beauty advent calendar, you should know that they make great gifts for family, friends, colleagues and clients (depending on your industry, of course).
As you may know, Advent begins the fourth Sunday before Christmas, so it begins on a different date each year. This year, the Advent season begins on Dec. 2 and lasts until the day before Christmas. Advent means “coming” in Latin, and in the Christian religion, the coming references Jesus being born as a baby into the world. But, in the beauty world, this time can remind of us all the beauty products that have been born into the world that we have yet to try; and at a great deal too because beauty Advent calendars are sold with many products in one gift set.
Usually each day includes a hot selling item from the company or a sample of something you might not have heard of since it is a medley of products.
The key to giving these as gifts though, comes with knowing who your giftee is. I have listed my favorite beauty Advent calendars below with some helpful information on who it might make the best gift for:
The Clarins Advent Calendar is my absolute favorite this year. With samples of the best products and with a selection of skincare, it is bound to be exciting for anyone who receives it. This Advent calendar includes the basics like mascara and eye makeup remover, but it also has their hottest selling Fresh Balm, which is used for perking up your skin in the morning. I would give this one to women 23 and older. The products have good ingredients that would be wasted on someone who doesn’t know how to properly take care of her skin. It retails for $125.
For someone who is more on the trendy side and has a night life that is more lived then their day life, then you definitely have to go with the Sleek Makeup Advent Calendar. From bright red nail polish, to red lip liner and red lipstick, this calendar screams Christmas. They also are very generous in their calendar because they include a lot of eye shadow colors. Most of the colors in this set of eyes, lips and nails would be used when out and about. The pretty blue eyeliner and glitter gold eyeliner will twinkle very nicely under all the nightlights of the city. I would recommend this gift be given to women 15 and older. I can see my college-aged cousins really getting a lot of use out of this one. It retails for $40.
The L’occitane Luxury Advent Calendar is a perfect gift to give to a colleague or a client because it includes items such as shower oils, hand creams and a lip balm. These items are very general and you can see almost anyone getting use out of them. You would not feel comfortable getting a client a gold, glittery eyeliner, but luxurious almond bath oil with a natural shea butter lip balm? Well, no one would keep all that good stuff boxed up. It is something you can start using the same day. This gift set also comes with two different scents in a perfume and an eau de toilette. It is a classy set for all the classy women you know. I would recommend this to girls and women of any age, although since it is on the luxury side, make sure your 15-year-old niece isn’t one to not appreciate these types of goods. This retails for $124.
