Incredibrow Provides Flawless Brows
Achieving the perfect arched brow has been a longtime ambition of mine. Although they appear to play a supporting role on one’s face, these little patches of hair can transform one’s features.

A well-shaped brow provides an elegant frame to the eyes and brings balance and proportion to the face. Gently arched brows appear to lift the eye area, imparting a more wide-eyed and youthful look. The result is subtle yet unmistakable; people will notice that you look better yet be unable to pinpoint what exactly has changed. Sounds wonderful, you might say, but how does one achieve this transformation?
Enter Kari Ellen Winik, newly appointed resident makeup artist and eyebrow maven at Luigi Parasmo Salon Spa in Georgetown. This week I attended a session with Winik, who demonstrated her techniques for shaping and enhancing eyebrows to beauty bloggers in search of better brows, and I am left without a doubt that this lady is the DMV-area eyebrow maven that we’ve all been seeking.
A native of southern Florida, Winik has been living in Washington, D.C. since her student days at The George Washington University. During this time, she worked as a makeup artist for MAC, and later honed her skills with celebrity makeup artist Erwin Gomez, whose signature eyebrow shaping style is widely sought after by Washington A-listers.

To achieve the perfect brow, Winik shapes brows subtly to enhance each woman’s individual beauty. She deftly removes stray hairs with wax and delicately fills in and defines brows with her Brow Blender pencil and sculpts a shapely arch with her Brow Duo. The latter comprises powder with a color coordinated wax that adds fullness and sets the eyebrows for all-day wear.
However for those of us who require a little more in order achieve the flawless brow, Winik has just the right product. Early on in her career as an eyebrow stylist, she observed that most women desire fuller brows and were dissatisfied with the often unnatural-looking, overdrawn look achieved with the usual eyebrow fillers including gels, pencils and powders. In response to her clients’ needs, Winik developed an eyebrow tinting system, Incredibrow, which creates highly naturalistic yet transformative results.

Incredibrow is easy to use. After mixing the color and liquid oxidizer, apply to brows with the brush applicator leaving the mixture on for about 10 minutes and wiping it off with a wet paper towel. Winik demonstrated the product on several women, including flaxen, tawny and raven-haired beauties resulting in highly flattering and natural-looking eyebrows for each.
The brow tint lasts for about three weeks, Winik said. While Incredibrow works for most people, it will not work if you’re missing a lot of eyebrow hair, as the tint needs something to adhere to.
