Hot Beauty Picks for Spring 2015
Finally, the arrival of the vernal equinox has brought with it the promise of warmer days ahead. As I bid winter a not-so-fond adieu, my thoughts inevitably turn to latest spring trends and products.
Here are some of my favorites:
Nails
Instead of reaching for my usual springtime pastel shades, my favorite nail color this season is the inaugural shade from Mischo Beauty’s limited edition Lacquer of Love collection. A crisp, vibrant aubergine — this color is spot-on for spring. This polish launches the Lacquer of Love campaign, for which 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to an organization that empowers women to “effect meaningful change with the stroke of a brush,” according to the company.
Skin
I’d been keen on trying the Forea Luna ever since reading about it this past winter. This innovative deep cleansing and anti-aging device clears the pores of dirt and oil, and delivers anti-aging massage with ultrasonic technology.
I like the soft silicone brush that’s resistant to bacteria growth and never needs replacing. It deep cleanses the skin with up to 8,000 pulsations per minute and leaves your skin feeling thoroughly clean and smooth. After cleansing, activate the anti-aging mode by applying the reverse side to wrinkle-prone areas of the face, neck and hands. In this mode, lower-frequency pulsations are delivered through concentric silicone waves to smooth the appearance of wrinkles and tone the skin. This treatment will also leave your skin better prepared to absorb treatment serums and moisturizers, promoting healthier, more youthful-looking skin.
Makeup
Those of you who’ve enjoyed flaunting a rich, red lip all winter will be relieved to learn that red lips were all the rage on the spring 2015 runways — so you can keep your favorite scarlet shade for another season. Deep red lips are a perfect complement to this spring’s atypically deep and rather decadent hues — with the ripe cherry shade seen at Dolce and Gabbana achieving the apotheosis, in my opinion, of lip rouge perfection.
To get this Spanish-influenced look, try the new Dolce Matte lipstick from the Dolce and Gabbana makeup line. The collection features a palette of 13 bold shades of red, all in a creamy, opaque and perfectly matte finish. Picking a favorite shade is well-nigh impossible for a red lipstick connoisseur, but I am a bit partial to the intense, ruby red Dolce Passion 629.
