About the Men of D.C.
Guys seem to change from region to region. From the Southern gentleman to the New York City player, each city offers a different kind of men that share similar attributes. The DMV is no exception to this. Although each guy is very different, there are some characteristics that men share in the D.C. that women have noted.
If you’ve been dating in the DMV for a while, you will have found that D.C. men are a different breed from San Francisco, Las Vegas or Atlanta men. They have their own quirks and characteristics that make them inherently fit for our city. But to have a real sense of what the men in your area are like, there is now an app for that.
Lulu is an app that allows women to research the men they are dating based on reviews. The app is similar to Yelp or Angie’s List, but is specifically for men. Many women have taken to using hashtag evaluations to categorize the men they are dating. For example, a man may #OpenDoors or he may be #PornEducated. Lulu has gathered this data and created a handy dandy Men of America map characterizing men across the country.
Men from the DMV received the following hashtags: #MothersLoveHim and #4.0GPA both of which lead us to believe that we have smart, well-polished men in the area. Based on experience, I would say this is definitely true. However, the Lulu Men of America map also points to another problem area of men in the D.C. area: #HitItandQuitIt.
However, as terrible as that hashtag may be, it wasn’t nearly as bad as San Francisco’s #QuestionableSearchHistory or Miami’s #SketchyCallLog. According to Lulu founder and CEO Alexandra Chong’s interview with Time magazine, “The party boys of Miami generally get hashtags like #AlwaysHappy and #AlwaysPays. And we see the stereotype of the gallant Texan with hashtags like #OpensDoors and #StrongHands.” You can read the full article here.
But if you are interested in a one night stand, New York may be the place to visit. With hashtags such as #PantyDropper and #BedroomEyes, the men are ripe for the picking. Just be remember that they also received the hashtag #PornEducated.
