Trypto-Fun Before the Eating Begins

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is widely known as the biggest party day of the year. In a majorly missed marketing opportunity, this festive occasion has some how not been branded with a catchy, packageable name like Black Friday, so for our purposes we can refer to it as Black Out Wednesday. As friends pour into town like gravy and grandmothers pre-heat their ovens, here are some ideas to start building up an appetite with your own Thanksgiving pre-game.

Trancegiving

At Club Glow, DJ Arnej will be serving up a healthy serving of EDM. Half off drinks till 11 p.m. and two bottles of Grey Goose for $500 promise to keep you dancing well into the night, keeping the legs fresh for a Thanksgiving turkey trot you are really regretting having signed up for.

Mason Inn

This Glover Park spot will be offering a $20 open bar 9-11 p.m/, and they will be going hard till 4 a.m. For $5, you get a turkey baster shot, and I can only hope that’s what it sounds like.

Wonderland Circus

Columbia Heights’ Wonderland Ballroom will be hosting a three-ring affair for your pre-Thanksgiving fun with comedians, musicians and burlesque dancers from Capital City Showcase. You might not make it up in time to catch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but you won’t see any burlesque there.

As you celebrate this unofficial day of good times, remember to imbibe responsibly and gobble, gobble!
