Go for Bright Denim

National Cherry Blossom Festival on HeelsIt’s that time of the year! The National Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing and we’re all waiting for the pretty blooms to peek out so we can take pictures. It’s also a tricky time of year with the in-between weather, and it’s hard to plan your outfit accordingly. If you’re going to check out the cherry blossoms like I plan to, I’m here with a style guide on what to wear!

Every year I’ve played tourist to see the cherry blossoms, I’ve kept my outfit casual but layered in case I get warm. It’s easier that way and layers are still very versatile. I love the idea of a bright skinny jean (last year, I wore hot pink) paired with a simple white v-neck tee and flats. We always end up walking around the Mall and blisters are no fun.

Add A Bold Jacket

Not so sure about bright pink pants? Try a light anorak jacket in a bold spring color like coral! You can keep the rest of the outfit simple by wearing a long sleeve v-neck tee, a pair of black denim and fringe boots with a lower heel. A floral scarf can also be added for extra interest.

When in doubt — layer it up and choose a bold jacket or denim! Happy shopping and enjoy the cherry blossoms!
