Alexander McQueen is a fashion legend worth being celebrated.
British fashion designer Alexander McQueen is always taking risks with designs, tailoring, colors and the way we think about fashion. His resume boasts experiences any up-and-coming designer would dream of.
McQueen worked for luxury French brand, Givenchy until 2001 and then stepped out into the world of fashion on his own. By the end of 2007, McQueen had boutiques in London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Las Vegas. In addition to his clothing line, McQueen is perhaps also best known for the way he showcases his collections in his energetic fashion shows. (A dream of mine to one day experience!)
He has been credited with bringing drama to the catwalk leaving fans of his work itching for more (and simultaneously trying to get as many pictures as possible). In the world of so many fashion designers, I believe Alexander McQueen has an edge that has brought him so much success. “Boring” is not a word in McQueen’s vocabulary – or those who describe him. Who wouldn’t want to wear any of McQueen’s Spring 2013 creations?
Of course, the fabulous Alexander McQueen isn’t just celebrated here in the United States. In the UK, young designers are flexing their creative muscles for the Young Designer Awards and creating their own line of clothing. Those who participate must also research the life and work of Alexander McQueen. Now that is my kind of research!
