It’s a Summer Hair Affair

Last Thursday night, one of D.C.’s own beauty experts, Kitiya Mischo King of Mischo Beauty, teamed up with EDEN BodyWorks to host “Evening with EDEN: It’s a Summer Hair Affair” at B. Smith’s Union Station location. The event celebrated the launch of EDEN’s new Jojoba Manoi Collection of moisturizing hair products and allowed a select group of local bloggers and other hair enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the products first-hand.

Panelists Julia Coney, Shirley Gordon, Ylorie Anderson, Kitiya Mischo King and Tia Williams

The event started with cocktails and appetizers, and then King moderated a panel discussion on healthy summer hair practices. Joining the panel were Julia Coney of beauty blog All About the Pretty, Shirley Gordon, award-winning owner of Strands Hair Studios, journalist and Shake Your Beauty blogger Tia Williams, and EDEN BodyWorks’ V.P. of Marketing, Ylorie Anderson.

Makeup artist Shana Janelle agrees: Good Hair = Healthy Hair! Check out her dimples!

Discussion was lively! The panelists discussed everything from maintaining healthy hair despite the summer heat, to summer hairstyles, to products to look for and those to avoid during the hot weather months. In addition to a great discussion, the 60 guests were also treated to products from both the Jojoba Manoi and Peppermint Tea Tree collections. One lucky attendee also won a gift certificate to The Emerald Door, an eco-chic spa in Silver Spring, Maryland.

An entire evening dedicated to hair? I would have loved that! I was invited to the event but unfortunately couldn’t make it. Sounds like everyone had an amazing time. It would have been nice to win that free spa trip. I definitely need a trip to the spa…ASAP.

The event was just as you described! A great night of food, fun and information about Eden hair care products! I really appreciated the opportunity to hear from the panelist as they offered healthy hair care tips, do’s and don’ts! The night ended with chocolate covered strawberries and goodie bags filled with full size Eden products for guest to try at home. Very nice event! I’m actually in one of your pics above! Lol! Love my natural hair 😉
