Recently, a DC on Heels colleague at Accessorize USA in New York asked me to provide an interview all about fashion in our nation’s capital. My how times have changed!
It used to be that New Yorker’s didn’t even consider Washington as a fashion destination — let alone a place to look toward for fashion inspiration. A decade ago, the District was well known for women wearing sneakers and gym socks with suits on the Metro, but a style transformation has occurred thanks to in part a new wave of youthful energy that swept into the capital city almost four years ago… and also thanks to a classic style that has lingered ever since the Camelot era of the 1960s.
