DC Style Watch: Accessorize for a Cause

October is upon us and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful weekend in Washington, DC!

I’m extremely excited about this because tomorrow is my modern 196o’s themed birthday party/tribute to my namesake Coretta Scott King. I can’t wait!  And as you can imagine, there is lots left to do on my checklist, including pick up my fabulous Tracey Reese birthday frock that I just took to the tailor (to show off the couple of inches I lost on my Zumba approved workout, lol!)

Now, thanks to my hubris, I’ll be doing a Kimora Lee Simmons by having my ensemble handed to me minutes before the guests arrive. Thankfully, there are back up outfits from White House Black Market, Macy’s and my closet, lol.  Your girl is prepared.  There is a red carpet after all.

Now, I still have not decided exactly which of my fabulous Stella & Dot jewels I’ll be wearing with the ensemble.  I have an idea, but sometimes you have to see how you are feeling that day.  Right now, it looks like the Drop Deco earrings and Petra bracelet might make an appearance OR I’ll be going the Sofia Pearl Bib necklace route.

However, one piece that I definitely plan to wear is the new Breast Cancer Awareness Tribute bracelet from Stella & Dot.

Stella & Dot Breast Cancer Awareness "Tribute" Bracelet

So pretty, right?! Twenty percent of the proceeds from its sale go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The bracelet looks amazing worn alone or layered, and the rose gold and adjustable band make it super flattering for everyone.

And just so you know that you’re not alone in supporting the Cause through the Stella & Dot Tribute bracelet, your girl Britney Spears tweeted about it a few days ago:

Plus, I’m doing an additional challenge that if I sell 100 Tribute bracelets, I’m donating my entire commission to Pink Isn’t Always Pretty, Inc.. It’s a fabulous organization started by a fellow Air Force JAG officer, Naomi Porterfield (soon-to-be Dennis, we’re doing her wedding in November) after she lost her older sister to the Triple Negative form of Breast Cancer.  I’ve participated in their “Pink Parties” since the beginning and I’m looking forward to doing it again this year!

Join me in supporting breast cancer research and in celebrating my birthday this month by ordering your own Tribute bracelet today. My Aunt is a strong survivor (love ya Aunt Demetria!) and this is a Cause that we all can support!
