Fashion models took walking down the runway to a new level at the Fashion for a Cause event. They took the runway by storm to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Guests sipped on cocktails while listening to the celebrity hosts, Pamela Brown of ABC7 and Ravin Caldwell, a former Redskin.
The designs of the night were all local, as fashion designer House Rossil is based in D.C. His bold and contemporary prints stole the show. Rossil’s African designs are ideal for the modern working woman who wants to go straight from work to out on the town.
D.C.’s newest upcoming designer, Samuel Ugglee, professed his design vision to the crowd. Ugglee remarked, “We are all beautiful. My designs are something that women everywhere should feel empowered in.”
The evening closed with a special presentation from the mother of the daughter of the year, Kasey Farrell. Farrell brought to light the importance of this fundraiser as she shared the heartwarming story of her daughter, Molly, who was diagnosed with Pre-B Lymphoblastic Lymphoma at the age of four. Molly is currently in remission, largely thanks to the research from the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.
This glamorous event raised a significant amount of proceeds for a worthy cause. If you are interested in learning more about other events involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society in D.C., go here http://bit.ly/kk88du.
