Reassuring Your Loved One They Are Loved
Saying I love you is a big step in any relationship. From there, your relationship will grow, and you will continue to fall more in love with your significant other. You will learn to love them for who they are, flaws and all. You would think that after dating awhile, saying I love you gets old, but that is not true at all.
Exchanging words of affection are essential in a relationship. You can’t just expect your significant other to know how you feel. Sometimes it is nice to hear. Other times, your significant other may need to hear these words to feel reassured in the relationship.
Needing reassurance doesn’t mean your relationship is in jeopardy. Some people like gifts, others like physical touch and then there are people who like words of affection. It is essential to know what your significant other needs to feel adored and loved.
If your significant other is a lover of words, try these tips to make them feel extra special:
Write a love letter
Take it old school and grab a pen and paper. Write a cute love letter and hide it somewhere your lover will eventually see. One day, I left a letter in my boyfriend’s wallet and when he found it, his day was made. He still keeps it in his wallet to look at every now and then.
Leave a voicemail
If your loved one doesn’t answer, leave a sweet voicemail. This may sound silly, but it will surprise them and bring a smile to their face. If they love it a lot, they might even save it to hear later if they want to hear your voice.
Compliment each other
Everyone loves a compliment, including your significant other. Take time out of your day and tell each other what you love about one another. This way you feel reassured and all fuzzy and warm inside.
Tell each other you love each other often. There’s no such thing as saying it too much. Unless it is one sided, in which case that is just creepy.
