How to Romanticize Superbowl Sunday
The Superbowl will be played this Sunday, and practically everyone will be watching for a multitude of reasons. Some people actually love the game of football and will be eagerly cheering on a team. Others are just in it for the commercials and could care less about the game itself. And then there is the group of vulnerable romantic partners that will be forced to watch and pretend to support their partner’s team.
Personally, I’ll be tuning in Sunday for the Budweiser puppy commercials, but I could honestly care less about the actual football game. My boyfriend, on the other hand, knows that this is the grand finale to this year’s football season, and thus his eyes will be glued to the television and not on me.
If you’re like me and don’t particularly like guys in spandex stealing your spotlight, I’ve thought of a handful of ways to make this Superbowl fun and flirty, without your partner missing the actual game.
Take it outside
Challenge your partner to friendly game of tag football before the game. This will show that you are supporting your partner’s football craze, and you get to fit in some physical touch before the big game.
Deal or no deal
Make a bet that’ll heat up the night. Sure, you may not like or know either team, but a good wager will make this more than worth it. Pick opposite teams to root for and shake on something you’ve been sexually desiring for a awhile. Enjoy the after party.
Dress up
Endure the football game, but plan the post game. Once the game is over, tell your partner to come into your room and jump out in a sexy referee outfit. Make it fun and fair, and have your partner switch into a sexy football player outfit. Then play ball!
Beer tasting
So wine tasting would be much more romantic, but clearly wine in not on the menu this Sunday night. However, you and your partner can take this opportunity to try craft beers together. So when your partner asks if you could pick up some basic beer, instead ask your partner to come with you. You can mix and match, and try something new together during the game.
The classic
Nothing beats the classics. While your partner is intensely watching the game, start up a game of footsie. Start off slow, but as the game gets more intense so should you. You’re going to make your partner want to skip the halftime show and admire you instead.
Final score
Although you might not be the biggest football fan, you can still make this Superbowl an undercover date night. Invite some friends to share food and drinks and make the night more bearable. But make sure to kick them out so the two of you can have a private after party of your own. Get excited for the post game under the sheets, and go team go!
