How Soon Is Too Soon?
We’ve all been there. The significant other that put an expiration date on your relationship and rushed through each stage of the relationship only to end it two or three months in. So how soon is too soon?
There are some telltale signs that can indicate that it’s time to slow things down. If you have only had three dates, it’s probably not time to introduce him or her to your group of friends and vice versa.
An even larger step than meeting the friends is meeting the parents. If you are introduced to the parents and it seems like they have never heard of you or if you have only been on three to five dates, it’s probably a good indicator that you’re moving too fast.
Bedroom romance is different for everybody. Some people believe that first date hookups are fine and others wait until marriage. However, if you have a feeling that something isn’t right, you should listen to your instincts and bring it up.
Even more intriguing are the couples that move in after only two months of being together. This is a big step and should be thought through very thoroughly. Your living situation can make or break a relationship. If you move in too soon, you and your significant other may discover that you didn’t know each other well enough ahead of time. Sometimes this can be a barrier too hard to overcome.
If you feel that some of these describe your budding relationship, talk to your significant other. You may find out that perhaps he or she is feeling overwhelmed as well.
