Caudalie Opens in CityCenterDC

Last week, those of us who are both oenophiles and beauty-product fanatics had the rare opportunity to sample some of the finest in both categories at the grand opening reception for Caudalie at 953 Palmer Alley NW, Suite 308 in CityCenterDC.

Based in the Bordeaux region of France, Caudalie vinotherapy products were among the first to harness the amazing skin rejuvenating powers of grape and grape vine. Hosted by Mathilde Thomas, the company’s founder, guests enjoyed fine wine from her family’s vineyard Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte while sampling exclusive, eco-friendly skin care products.

As I’ve written before, the grape plant provides numerous skin-preserving properties. I’ve long been a fan of Caudalie products and I was thrilled to learn that the company was opening a shop here in D.C. The Caudalie Boutique and Spa offers a wide range of products and services.

One is immediately struck by the warm interior with design features that recall the wineries of Bordeaux. The boutique features the Caudalie signature wine vessel-inspired Beauty Barrel Bar designed for quick services, such as mini-facials, gommage scrub treatment and my favorite, the hand massage. The latter uses Caudalie’s Hand and Nail Cream, of which I’m an avid user. You can also sample the full line of cleansers, toners and anti-aging treatments at the bar.

The spa services include a complete line up Caudalie’s trademark Vinotherapie treatments, which include the skintone-correcting Vinoperfect Radiance Facial, the anti-aging Premier Cru Facial, the lifting and firming Vinexpert Firming Facial, the detoxifying and energizing PC Detox Facial and the soothing, hydrating Vinosource Anti-Oxident Hydrating Facial. If you’re short on time, there’s the Express D-Vine Facial to give your complexion an instant radiance boost.

My top Caudlaie product picks include the aforementioned Hand and Nail Cream, their best-selling Premier Cru Elixir and the Premier Cru The Eye Cream — this collection is fantastic for fighting the signs of aging.

Caudalie is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
