Try out some new trends this new year
All the confetti is cleaned up, Christmas decorations put away (at least mine are) and 2013 is finally here! Whether you make resolutions every January or not – I think we can all agree this is the time where we really think about bettering ourselves. Perhaps part of that has you in your closet trying to make sense of clothes that never see daylight. As we usher in a new year, why not give your closet a (slight) revamp – and add in a few new trends!

Be on the lookout for bold stripes – and don’t be afraid of them! For this trend, vertical stripes are much more flattering and elongating (especially if you’re short like me). If you go for a full suit, keep the rest of the outfit simple.
Drop Dead Gorgeous!
The drop-waist dress has already been seen on the runway and in stores and it’s a trend that’s here to stay in 2013.
I love the flirty feel of a drop waist and the dresses above capture it perfectly.
Go Bright
This trend is where I need a little more coaxing to try: bright leather. I love my black (faux) leather jacket – but this year, the little black jacket is getting updated in bold hues like red and blue. And not just jackets – skirts and leather shirts are taking over! (Don’t worry – your black leather jacket is still in.)
