Our society is so consumed with celebrity gossip and watching celebrities’ every move that it’s no surprise that we attempt to mimic their lives. Personally, I’ve probably watched The Notebook at least 100 times (and I cried 50 of those times). Because of this, I’ve actually used lines from the movie in my own real life relationships. It surprisingly works until you watch that certain movie with your significant other, and they begin to recognize you are a chick flick parrot. But, reality is that sometimes only movies have words for how you feel in a moment.

What happens when you stop quoting movies and start resembling celebrities’ actual lives? It isn’t that impossible. We watch celebs in movies, listen to their music and read about their lives in magazines, so the idea of developing similar relationship characteristics isn’t abnormal.

Reality Check

Our society will always be obsessed with a new generation of celebrities, so we might as well take advantage of that. By that, I mean we can actually learn from their mistakes. Taylor Swift teaches us that it’s okay to own up to your past relationship mistakes as well as call out exes for their bluffs. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth teach us that its never too late to break off an engagement if the single in you is begging to be let out and go wild. And Kimye (Kim Kardasian and Kanye West) taught us that haters will always be jealous of your fabulous life.

Just be sure you can distinguish realistic relationship expectations and Hollywood expectations. Don’t expect your ex to build you a house to get your attention like in The Notebook. And don’t expect your hot dance instructor to sweep you off your feet like in Dirty Dancing. There may be similarities, but Hollywood is not a mirror image of our reality.

Know that it is okay to admire celebrity romances, as long as you know you are in control of your own future. So go on thinking you are Queen B in your relationship, but don’t let it get to your head or else you’ll end up becoming a literal single lady with no ring on it.

Kim Kardashian’s closest girlfriends joined her for dinner at the Salon Chinois inside the Hotel Costes on Thursday then the women took a party van on a tour of the Trocadero and other Paris sights, stopping at the Louvre to take photos, before heading to a private bash in the Eiffel Tower.

Joining Kim were her mom Kris Jenner, sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner as well as friends Rachel Roy, LaLa Anthony, Joyce Bonelli, Monica Rose, Shelli Azoff, Brittny Gastineau, Lorraine Schwartz and more. Dinner, which reportedly cost nearly 300 euros or $409 per person, was organized by Azoff and Schwartz.

Earlier in the evening, the 33-year-old reality star and her friends started the party with 15 bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne in her room at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, according to reports.

Kim, who weds Kanye West in Florence, Italy on Saturday, wore a $20,000 sparkly, glass beaded baby blue Balmain Couture mini dress with a turtleneck, long sleeves and a floral motif on the chest and made a grand entrance into the hotel with Kylie. Kim and her guests dined on “light dishes” including frog legs and escargot while sipping mineral water and wine.

Kim shared photos from the evening to her Instagram account, including the one above of her surrounded by all her girls at the dinner, with the caption: “I’m so lucky! I have the best friends in the whole wide world! #ParisNights #LastSupper.”

Thursday night’s outing was more casual than Wednesday whe the bride-to-be hit up Crazy Horse Paris, a famous burlesque club, with Khloé. Kendall and other friends. The famed cabaret club, known for its stage shows performed by nude female dancers, tweeted a shot of Kim taking a selfie with some fans.

Wedding guests including Jay Z and Beyoncé will gather in Paris today then move to brunch at iconic designer Valentino Garavani’s Château de Wideville, a magisterial 17th-century residence on 120 acres outside the French capital, then be given a private tour of the Palace of Versailles.

Singer Beyoncé Knowles Carter has not only made a name for herself in the music industry, but she is now making it very clear that she wants women to know that they need to come together and make a change.

In her essay about feminism in The Shriver Report’s book A Women’s Nation Pushes Back from the Brink, says women need to earn equal pay for equal work as men. The letter is very empowering and will open eyes and ears!

“We need to stop buying into the myth about gender equality. It isn’t a reality yet,” Beyoncé wrote. “Today, women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 percent of what the average working man makes. But unless women and men both say this is unacceptable, things will not change. Men have to demand that their wives, daughters, mothers, and sisters earn more—commensurate with their qualifications and not their gender. Equality will be achieved when men and women are granted equal pay and equal respect.

“If women received pay equal to their male counterparts, the U.S. economy would produce $447.6 billion in additional income,” Beyoncé says.

“Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another. So why are we viewed as less than equal? These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning,” the singer writes. “We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible.

“We have a lot of work to do, but we can get there if we work together,” she says. “Women are more than 50 percent of the population and more than 50 percent of voters. We must demand that we all receive 100 percent of the opportunities.”

The study is a partnership between Maria Shriver’s The Shriver Report and the Center for American Progress. The report was meant to encourage women to make a stand on what they believe in and how to be successful working women in the U.S. economy. Stars like Jada Pinkett Smith, Eva Longoria, LeBron James, former United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and social activists like Barbara Ehrenreich, Maya Harris and Ai-jen Poo also contributed. Beyonce Knowles-Carter and husband Shawn Knowles-Carter (better known as Jay-Z) are expecting their second child, sources confirmed to E! News Friday, just days after she canceled her concert in Antwerp, Belgium ”as a result of dehydration and exhaustion.”

The superstar singer, 31, and Jay-Z, 43, already have a 16-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Rumors began in early May

Beyonce’s pregnancy speculation began earlier this month when she wore a black and gold Givenchy gown to the Met Ball in New York City, which carefully concealed her midsection. But rumors went rampant on Tuesday when Beyonce was forced to cancel her concert in Antwerp. She revealed that she was too sick to perform and had to see doctors.

Bey later apologized for the cancellation in a handwritten note posted to fans on her Tumblr saying, “I’ve never postponed a show in my life. It was very hard for me. I’m sorry if I disappointed you.”

On Friday, multiple sources confirmed to E! News that the two are in fact expecting their second child!
The news comes after the proud mom gushed about Blue Ivy May 6 on Good Morning American.

“I would like more children,” Beyonce said. “I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being a big sister and at some point when it’s supposed to happen.”

Will the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour continue?

While Beyonce is in the midst of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, a source close to the singer told E! News that her pregnancy will “likely not” impact any of the shows.

She has 40 tour dates left — 12 in Europe and 28 in North America — and her final date is Aug. 5 in New York City at the Barclays Center. She is expected to continue her tour through the summer as planned. She’s scheduled to perform July 29 and 30 at the Verizon Center in D.C. as part of her tour.

Beyonce is used to performing while pregnant — she announced her first pregnancy with baby Blue Ivy Carter at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2011 when she was already five months pregnant.

Some celebrities tweet when they have a bone to pick. But rapper Jay-Z drops highly produced, venom-filled, boast-bloated diss tracks to answer his critics.

Jay-Z’s “Open Letter” serves as a hybrid defense and “I don’t really care what you think” response. He released the track Thursday shortly after returning from Cuba, a trip that drew criticism from Cuban-American lawmakers in Congress who questioned how the couple got permission to travel to the communist-run island.

Florida lawmakers object to visit

Several Florida lawmakers lashed out at the couple, and the administration, over the trip. U.S. law bans tourism by Americans to Cuba, though there are exceptions for certain cultural trips.

“I done turned Havana into Atlanta,” he rapped. “Boy from the hood, but got White House clearance.”
He continued: “Politicians never did shit for me except lie to me, distort history, wanna give me jail time and a fine. Fine, let me commit a real crime,” he says, a reference to less-than-pleased letters from Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart. “Obama said, ‘Chill you’re going to get me impeached. You don’t need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach.”

Rubio said in a statement earlier in the week: “U.S. law clearly bans tourism to Cuba by American citizens because it provides money to a cruel, repressive and murderous regime. Since their inception, the Obama Administration’s ‘people to people’ cultural exchange programs have been abused by tourists who have no interest in the Cuban people’s freedom and either don’t realize or don’t care that they’re essentially funding the regime’s systematic trampling of people’s human rights.”

White House denies helping arrange visit

The White House on Thursday challenged the artist after he released the track suggesting he got “White House clearance” for his controversial trip to Cuba with wife Beyonce. Jay Carney, President Obama’s press secretary, denied the claim — reiterating that the Treasury Department handles clearance.

“I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury,” Carney joked. “The White house, from the president on down, had nothing to do with anybody’s … travel to Cuba. That is something that Treasury handles.”

The rapper boasted at length about the visit, suggesting Obama was involved. Jay-Z and Beyonce are both Obama supporters.

“It’s a song,” Carney said. “The president’s not communicating with Jay-Z over this trip.”

For the government’s part, the Treasury Department wrote earlier in the week that the trip was fully authorized as an educational and cultural exchange organized by another group.

His song also references his recent dealings with the New York Nets basketball team which he bought, partially sold and then helped move into a new arena in Brooklyn that he partially owns. Reports say that he will be selling his remaining shares in the team so that he can officially go into the basketball player agent business.

“I woulda moved the Nets to Brooklyn for free. Except I made millions off you f–king dweebs. I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seats. You buy that bullshit, you better keep your receipts.”
