Although COVID hasn’t packed its bag and left just yet, things are gradually returning to normal, and activities and social events are possible once again. Planning a party may be high on your list of post-COVID activities, so how can you get started? This guide will take you through everything you need to know and do to carry out the best party of all time.

Planning

Restrictions may still be in place where you live, but it is important to start planning early as there is likely to be a rush of bookings after many months of isolation and social distancing. Start researching venues and options to get an idea of the price. Planning a party will help keep you motivated and focused as well as giving you something to look forward to.

Deciding on a theme for your party is tricky. It is true to say that when COVID is over (as over as it will ever be), parties will be plentiful and the end of COVID could be a theme in itself. However, you may want to have a break from pandemic-related subjects, so be creative and find ideas that will be fun and inclusive. Fancy dress is always a great choice as it gives people the opportunity to be someone else for the night. Most fun-loving friends enjoy a dress-up night, and after many months at home, many will welcome the opportunity to get out of their pajamas.

Safety

With the rollout of the vaccine and reduced COVID cases, things are looking positive. However, it is important to be aware that people remain anxious about socializing, so implementing safety measures at the party will help reassure those who feel vulnerable.

Ensure there are sanitizing stations available at the event. You could even purchase some lateral flow tests and make it a rule everyone must be tested on the morning of the party. This will help people relax and enjoy the occasion without worry.

For an extra layer of safety, you could plan the event as an outside party. Most towns and states have community halls or hotels with extensive grounds. Although it will take some planning, you could investigate marquee companies that offer packages for any occasion. In addition, you can check out Event Bartenders who offer professional staff for your event; a great option if you don’t want the responsibility of sorting out drinks all evening. They will ensure social distancing is observed and make cleanliness a priority.

Guests/Venue

Finding the right venue is important and will determine how many guests you can invite and who will accept. If your guests are scattered throughout the state or country, it is challenging to find somewhere that will be accessible for all. It’s worth getting in touch with friends and discussing how far they would be willing to travel. You don’t want to make all the effort securing a venue only to find people who aren’t willing to get there.

Once you have an idea of numbers and commitment, you can look at potential options. For a unique party plan, why not hire a campsite? Camping is a great way to extend the party and give people the opportunity to stay over if they want to. It is also a good way to encourage people to travel further afield. And it is a way of maintaining the COVID bubble if people still feel nervous. It doesn’t have to be complicated, and with organization and a group effort, it may be the perfect solution.

Once you have secured a venue, send invitations and wait. It is amazing to finally look forward to some fun.
