Don’t stay in the sun

They say the sun helps to give us Vitamin D. Well, that may be the case, but a lot of UV radiation is bad news for your skin. Dermatologists say that sun exposure over a long period of time is responsible for destroying the collagen and elastin that makes up tissues of the skin. As such, you ought to shun the sun as much as you can. The bad news about UV radiation is that it can penetrate cloud cover, and it can even pass through glass or car windows! Therefore, to ensure you are fully protected, you do not just need to stay out of direct sunlight, but you must use dermatologically proven sunscreens just to get that extra cover.

Hydrate your skin

It has been scientifically proven that water and fruits are good for your skin. As such, it is imperative that when you are looking for radiant smooth skin, you must make water and fruits your go-to friends on a frequent basis. At least eight to 10 glasses of water and at least five fruits a day will do. Water first helps to flush out toxins, and it also helps in plumping your cells so that they work more efficiently. Fruits on the other hand aid your body with extra micronutrients and antioxidants to maintain healthy skin.

Cleansing and exfoliation

People in days gone by used to maintain healthy skin through cleansing and exfoliation. This trick is still trusted by dermatologists today. The purpose of cleansing is to remove dead skin cells. In simple terms, what this means is that when you cleanse your skin, you remove all traces of grease, makeup and pore-clogging dirt. The purpose of exfoliation is to soften and smooth the skin. There are different types of ‘tools’ that you can use for cleansing and exfoliation purposes. Lemons and cucumbers can act as cleansers, while honey can work as an exfoliation chemical.

Exercising

Exercising is not just great for your arms, belly, thighs and so forth, rather, its also a great way to ensure that you get smooth, radiant skin. What happens when you exercise is that your heart starts pumping more blood to all body parts including the face. By getting more blood, your face will be able to get more micronutrients and healing properties, hence more mechanisms to ensure that it gets softer and smoother.
