Plan a Beach Getaway for Two or a Few
It has been a gloomy few days, so let’s think back to better times when there was no rain and only sunshine. While we are expected to see a few more rain clouds over the next couple of days, this gives us more time to plan the perfect beach date for when the sun finally comes out.
With Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach or Bethany Beach only a 2 1/2-3 hour drive away, or Sandy Point State Park near Annapolis and Chesapeake Beach in Southern Maryland only an hour away, you can plan a quick day trip or go for the weekend.
For starters, you have to decide if you want to plan a couple’s beach trip or a group trip with lovers and friends. Both are destined to be a great time, but each require packing different things to ensure success.
Romantic getaway
If you are planning an escape for two, there are a few things you should keep in mind. To start, you need all your beach essentials plus stuff for a great night. This includes great wine and a candle to make your basic hotel room a bit cozier. For the daytime, you want to pack tons of sunscreen and aloe. Yes, this sounds like a bore, but it is essential. You and your partner can make it sexy by taking turns giving one another a good rub down. Of course, recognize you are in public and don’t be too handsy. Sex on the beach is a great drink to enjoy, but not something to do during peak daylight hours.
Play time, date time
While your party of two is destined to be a great time, adding a few friends into the mix will guarantee even more fun. You can still escape your friends for a while to do all the great romantic things, but then you have everyone to come back to for group activities. What does those include? You can hit the bars or see if there is an escape room nearby, if you dare. If you are staying in an Airbnb where you have more space, you can play group drinking games like Piccolo or charades that always guarantee to be a hilarious ice breaker.
If you are ever torn about what date night should be this summer, let a beach trip be a top choice since you live close to one. It can be as planned or unplanned as you want. Take a trip spontaneously, and only bring the essentials. Or completely plan out a trip and jam pack it with fun activities for you, your partner and friends. Getting away from everyday stress is good for both you and your relationship, so a day oe two at the beach can give you a chance to do just that while fully taking advantage of those nice summer days when they do come around.
